Daily Schedule

K-4 Specials Rotations: ABCD Days

K–4 students follow an ABCD rotation for Library, Art, Music, and PE. Rather than tying specials to specific days of the week, this rotating schedule ensures equitable access—even with holidays, school closures, or schedule changes. The daily letter is announced each morning!

Recess & Lunch

Lunch has been shifted slightly later to maximize uninterrupted morning learning time when students are most focused.

• Movement & Snacks: K–4 students enjoy morning and afternoon recess in addition to lunch recess. Grades 5–8 have an extended morning snack and movement break to keep fueled and ready to learn.

WIN & FLEX Time

• K–4 (WIN - "What I Need"): Students participate in daily WIN blocks. Depending on student needs, this may include classroom learning, targeted intervention, work with a learning specialist, additional practice, or enrichment.

• Grades 5–8 (FLEX): Serves a similar purpose by creating dedicated time for additional support, extension, enrichment, and other learning opportunities without pulling students away from core instruction.

7th & 8th Grade Electives

Our 7th and 8th grade schedule protects students’ lunch and recess time while providing a dedicated 50-minute PE period to meet state requirements.

• Choice Electives: Students can explore their interests through offerings like Makers Market, Escape Room Design, Leadership, and Music.

• STEM: Students participate in an assigned STEM elective for one trimester.

Health

Health instruction is integrated into the science schedule for grades 6-8 to maintain consistent learning alongside other core learning experiences:

• 6th Grade: Fridays

• 7th & 8th Grade: Wednesdays
